Lip plumper vs lip injectables: What is the difference?

How does lip plumper work?
According to board-certified dermatologist Michelle Inexperienced MD, lip plumping glosses contain elements that cause a skin response which results in localized swelling. This gives the lips a fuller appearance.
Lip plumping glosses are primarily made up of cinnamon (often found in less expensive lip glosses), hyaluronic acids (found in more expensive lip glosses), and other ingredients that can stimulate the lips to quickly puff up. This results in a mild swelling which enhances the natural features you were born with. The effect lasts only as long as lip gloss, and it won’t correct unevenness or asymmetry.
Dr. Devgan says, “It is not realistic to achieve a Kylie Jenner-like lip appearance with lip plumping lip gloss.” Reapplying the product will keep it in effect.

After my success using the Maybelline Lifter Gloss I wanted to try a lip plumping product that was more affordable. The slight rose tint of the L.A. Woman lip plumper is my favourite. I also noticed that it gave me fuller lips. It does, however, have a warming effect from the cinnamon which some people may find off-putting.
It is also thicker and more opaque than Magnificence platinum, but not as thick as Lifter gloss. This means it won’t work well for layering with a lip liner or lipstick. It does work to plump the lips, and is a great value for those looking to try out this new trend.
“This also has an excessive shine which makes lips appear fuller, and cinnamon which gives a tingling feeling and improves circulation,” Dr. “Inexperienced” says. “The combination of excessive shine and cinnamon has a short-lived volumizing effect.”
